Carnevale

„The Carnival"
Texts and direction by Miguel Angel Cienfuegos

„The Carnival" as its name suggests is a show full of music and dance, acrobatics, magic and sketches, with the masked characters of the Italian commedia dell'arte. In this work which combines fact and fiction, the immortal Dr. Faustus enters the mysterious world of a Roman Carnival and has a new adventure in which he falls in love with Margherita (Gretchen), a performer who dances on a rope. Since Carnevale is a tribute both to Goethe's Faust and to his love for Italy, it is only natural that German and Italian, the seminal languages of European culture, each have their place in it.
